About Wilson Jordan

Thanks for stopping by Sewing Makes Me Happy!

My name is Wilson Jordan and I’m the one behind the website.

To be honest, I can’t believe I was able to create my very own website (this is my first one). I’m not “techy” and it was intimidating to get started.

With that in mind, be gentle on the design aspect of Sewing Makes Me Happy. I hope to grow the blog and make it look prettier, but first and foremost it needs great content.

Why I Started Sewing Makes Me Happy

Sewing has been a huge part of my life. I first started sewing as a young boy and have continued throughout my life. I’d be lying if I said sewing wasn’t the one thing that keeps me a peace. No matter what’s going on around me, sewing has always seemed to center me.

I decided to start this blog because I wanted to place to share my sewing experiences. Recently, a close friend of mine reached out to ask the best way to get their granddaughter into sewing. That’s when it clicked. Instead of being limited to my close friend, I knew the next step was to take my love of sewing to the Internet.

A few lessons later and I now I have this website up and running.

Different Sections

I plan to write about various sewing topics of this blog. First, I would like to provide honest reviews of sewing machines. One of the biggest barriers to entry has to be the sewing machine. There are so many options and price points; it’s confusing to the beginner (even a seasoned vet).

In addition, to review articles, I plan to write about psychology and the benefits of sewing. Sewing is an amazing hobby that has brought me thousands of smiles throughout my life.

It’s the same concept for any hobby. Another example might be golf, which is something my husband loves playing. It’s something you can enjoy for a lifetime. Let’s talk about why sewing is awesome.

We will also include tips and a project section. It’s fun to catalog the different projects people are working.

The neat thing about sewing is that there is always a way to improve or find a new design/pattern.
